That’s a wrap on the National Ploughing Championships 2026!

What an incredible three days at the National Ploughing Championships.

From early starts and busy days on the stand to meeting farmers, business owners, installers and fellow exhibitors, it was fantastic to see such a strong interest in renewable energy and the role solar can play in the future of farming.

For Fáilte Solar, the Ploughing was about much more than showcasing products. It was about starting conversations, building connections and listening to the people who are shaping the future of agriculture in Ireland.

🤝 Bringing installers and customers together

A huge part of our three days was the support of our installer network.

We were delighted to welcome and work alongside Sunarc Solar Systems, Mitros, KM Electrical, Cronin Electrical, Western Renewables, Treacy Solar.

Having our installers on the stand allowed potential customers to meet directly with experienced professionals, ask questions and explore what renewable energy could look like for their own homes, farms and businesses.

The conversations happening throughout the three days highlighted just how important that connection is. From the initial conversation about solar through to system design, installation and ongoing support.

The Sigenergy Van was a big talking point

The Sigenergy Demo Van was also on site and proved to be a fantastic way to bring renewable energy technology to life.

Installers were able to meet with potential customers at the van, talk through the technology and demonstrate what modern energy systems can offer.

With energy generation, battery storage, backup power and EV charging becoming increasingly connected, solutions such as the Sigenergy system are opening up new possibilities for how farms and businesses can manage and use their energy.

The van gave visitors the opportunity to see the technology up close and have those conversations in a practical, easy-to-understand way.

One of the most valuable parts of the Ploughing was stepping away from our own stand and talking to the many businesses exhibiting at the event.

We wanted to hear directly from businesses operating within the farming and agricultural community

Where do they think renewable energy is heading?

The conversations gave us plenty of food for thought.

Energy is becoming an increasingly important consideration for modern farms and agricultural businesses. From reducing reliance on grid electricity to generating energy on-site and considering battery storage, there is growing interest in how renewable technology can become part of a wider farm energy strategy.

Every farm is different, and so are its energy requirements. That is why understanding the challenges faced by farmers and businesses is so important to us.

🔋 Solar is becoming part of a bigger energy conversation

The conversations we had at the Ploughing reinforced something we see every day. Solar is no longer simply about putting panels on a roof.

For farms and businesses, the conversation is increasingly about how energy is generated, stored and used.

Solar generation can be combined with battery storage, energy management and EV charging to create a more connected approach to energy.

And as technology continues to develop, we expect these conversations to become an even bigger part of the future of farming.
